The most common questions and answers relating to mobile phone faults are listed below.


However, if you do have a fault on a mobile phone that is supplied by Alliance Business Communications and you cannot find a resolution for it below, then please contact us.

  • My voicemail is not activated on my Vodafone handset
    To turn on standard voicemail - call 1211 from your mobile phone.

  • I would like to de-activate my Vodafone voicemail
    To turn off standard voicemail - call 1210 from your mobile phone.

  • My voicemail is not activated on my o2 handset
    Your Voicemail 901 is automatically set up with a default message that greets your callers. Alternatively, you can record your own personal message. Here's how:
    • Dial 901
    • Press * for greetings and mailbox settings and then press 3
    • Follow the prompts
    You use the same prompts to change your greeting, as and when you need to. Handy if you're away on holiday.

  • I would like to de-activate my o2 voicemail
    Dial 1760 from your mobile free of charge.

  • My voicemail is not activated on my Orange handset
    Call 0800 079 4000 option 2.

  • I would like to de-activate my Orange voicemail
    Call 0800 079 4000 option 2.

  • My phone won’t power on
    • Have you checked that the phone is fully charged?
    • Does your phone have a memory card?
    • If yes, remove the memory card and see if the phone starts up.
    • If you do not have a memory card, then try restoring/updating your phone’s software.
    • if none of the above works, you will need to call customer services for more help.

  • My phone is engaged when someone tries to ring it
    Your sim-card could have well locked up, take the sim-card out, leave it for a minute, then put it back in the phone and try to make a call to the mobile.

  • My phone won’t call out
    A lot of mobile related problems can be fixed by switching your phone off and then back on again. This causes the phone to clear down the memory and reconnect to the mobile network; this can often resolve a wide variety of problems.
    • Try switching your phone off and then back on again, has this resolved the call issue?
    • Do you have a mobile signal?
    • If no then your problem could be signal related
    • If yes, does the problem occur with a specific number or all calls?
    • If it’s a specific number, are you able to dial this number from another phone?
    • If no the problem is likely to be with the number you are dialling.
    • If yes, then you have done all you can online, you will now need to call customer services.

  • My phone will not send or receive text messages

  • My phone will not connect to the Internet or email
    • Do you have a mobile phone signal?
    • Try switching your phone off and then back on again, has this resolved the problem?
    • If no, then check your internet connection settings are correct, does this resolve the issue?
    • If no, then you have done all you can online, you will now need to call customer services.
